Car occasionally cranking and not starting
Hey, I've noticed lately that on occasion when I try and start up my car, it will just crank and crank and crank and not fire up. When it happens, I typically remove the key, put it back in and try again, and it almost always fires up on the first try. Is this indicative that something might be failing on the car? I haven't been able to tie the problem to any other conditions (such as weather), so I'm pretty clueless at this point. Some interwebcrawling didn't turn up any other information. Any tips will help, thanks

Re: Car occasionally cranking and not starting
Have you tried the method of leaving the key at II until you hear the fuel pump stop & then crank it over ??
I have trained myself to do this each time and never once (except maybe when super cold morning) failed to start the 1st attempt.
Worth a try.
