Don't turbo unless you know what you're doing..
well, here's the story:
swapped in a jdm b16a a little over a year ago. a couple months later, i went and bolted on a turbo kit for it, thinking that running off a fmu would suffice my fuel management (no tune either). well, detonated a piston about a month and a half later, got it replaced, and removed the turbo. well, ever since then my engine has had a slight knock in it. me, thinking it wasn't anything too important to deal with at the moment, put it off. well, tonight driving home from g/f's house, engine starts knocking really bad. wanting to at least get it home, i downshifted into a lower gear so i could slow down. car shuts off. so i start it back up again, then try giving it a little gas, has no power at all. so now i press in clutch again, shuts off. at this point, i know im screwed, so i just pull over. tried turning it on one more time, nastiest knocking sound i have ever heard, im pretty sure i threw a rod or something.
well, i need a running car. luckily i have a little over 2 grand in the bank account right now id rather not spend, but dont think i have much of a choice. what do you guys think? replace the motor, maybe with a cheaper D? see how much i can get it fixed for? let me know what ya'll think.
btw, i drive a 95 civic coupe dx.

Whatever you do, use $300 of that to by a wideband and display so you will something is wrong before you detonate and blow another motor if you plan on boosting again.

You should have to cover bandwidth costs for the size of that damn signature. Are trying to build a wiki on it?

Dude, I give $5/month on a recurring subscription to the site, which I started doing 3 months ago. It's not much but it's still coming out of my account every month and TRIZ is a fa.... I mean don't turbo your car unless you know what you're doing.
