Re: turbo specialties forgedpistons???
I have a sneaky feeling those are the same Wiseco pistons dezod carries. While they used to be a dezod exclusive, Wiseco has now decided to mass produce them and let other vendors carry them. I could be wrong, but I've spoken with Paul and few times, who told me this was coming - the Wiseco mass-production that is.

Dezod's are 8.8:1 and they are off the shelf wisecos. The 9:1s are/were made for Race Engineering. I'd find out who made em before you buy them. Pistons are kinda important.

Re: turbo specialties forgedpistons???
Well thanks for proving my point. The pistons you are/were selling, are Wiseco stock items and have been for quite some time, I already knew that, which is why I said it. "Dezod Pistons" and the ones that are now the Wiseco D17A ones are the same thing. The RE ones, never were Wiseco stocked. I dont need to call Wiseco and figure that they are different, its pretty hard to make an 8.8:1 slug and a 9:1 slug and have them be the same.

You missed the entire point! Our pistons where NOT shelf stockers until PRI last year when Brian broke the news to me as of Jan they where like that.
This is a moot point as stated previously, but thanks for the entertainment Boiler.

FYI-I just looked on our system, and the Wisecos where first done on Jan, 17, 2006 and became a stocking Wiseco item in Jan 2007. The part number was assigned then to become k624m755

Also one more note....They did not even have the part number when they printed the 07 catalogs in November 06 for PRI in December 06. The part number was TBA.

Re: turbo specialties forgedpistons???
Well... since he wants to buy them NOW, your pistons are wiseco pistons, and my statement is completely accurate. Since the ones they are selling were the same ones that you were selling with your own logo on them, even if he bought a set from 2 years ago, its the same ones as you can buy now. How many other ways would you like to split the same sentence up? "Dezod" pistons are off the shelf Wisecos. Part number, no part number, who cares, what comes out of the machine is identical. You're trying to look all high and mighty as if you reinvented the wheel by calling Wiseco and having them write up a CNC program for you, and I'm not buying it. This is where it always goes.
Every piston maker will cut custom slugs, they have a form you fill out on the web page, Wiseco's is right here http://www.wiseco.com/PDFs/Catalogs/...mOrderAuto.pdf ,so hold on while I go call them and have them make me some super, ultra, extra special "Boilermaker" pistons.

Re: turbo specialties forgedpistons???
Well I do not recall EVER stating that I did reinvent the wheel. You can feel free to verify this in ALL of my posts back to Dec 2001, when I joined the forum. However, you are correct in that these are NOW off the shelf Wisecos as I stated numerous times. So once again, splitting hairs.....Why are we pissing over this and going off topic anyway?
Aren't you a mod that is supposed to keep this on track of relevant convo?
As I stated 3-5 posts ago:

Time is irrelevant. Regardless of when they are bought, or sold, regardless of the label on the box, its the SAME PART in the box (and it was always a Wiseco box if you wanna get real technical about it). If it makes you feel better to say you sold em first, more power to ya. Have at it, but the fact that you feel the need to continue this rediculousness to try and make me sound wrong when I'm not is what is prolonging this. I may be a mod, but I'm definitely entitled to defend a correct statement, just like anyone else on this board. /end rant
/begin moderator rant .... and if you want to get into the real nit-picky of it, especially since you brought up the whole thing about relevant conversation.... your history lesson or whatever you want to call your involvement in this thread is entirely irrelevant to the question at hand.
anyone ever seen these before or hear anything about them?
/end mod rant
As I had originally stated, the implication is there that they are Race Engineering model, or at the least they released the profile for others to use, but it is unclear who made those, and info was needed.
And before we go back around the merry-go-round again, I'm more than willing to just agree to disagree on this whole deal, let it go back to the original question of "Who knows anything about the slugs in the link", and call it done right here. We can go back and forth all night if you want, but now this is just wasting my time over some minor technicality of who's label was on the box.

Re: turbo specialties forgedpistons???
you dont need to say it, you're saying it in the manner in which you say things. I dont ever recall anyone running out into the street claiming to have re-invented the wheel (especially when its a turn of phrase and not a literal statement, in particular when no wheel is involved). The point is, rather than a simple, "we stocked them as special, now they're shelfers"..................

Seriously!Secondly, the fact that you thought I literally referred to 'reinventing the wheel' is absolutely gut busting. I am almost in tears about that.
That is classic!!!! Thanks again Boiler for the entertainment. (seriously) Lastly, the bolded portion of your comment there was the most relevant data in all of your last 4-5 rebuttling posts combined, and I agree 100%. This is what I was inferring to, without spelling it out in neon lights. So at least we have the point out into the open now, which is all that matters!
Now, since I feel obligated as a source of information, and guilted by our moderator friend Boiler to contribute more to the cause:
To the original poster, and contrary to the popular opinion, I do not feel these are Wiseco pistons. I do recall them using another company when I asked them. However, I did take the liberty to call and ask them for the original poster, and they come from "a company in Taiwan"---per TSI directly.
