Removing the auto tranny, help! (pics)
Removing the auto tranny, help! (pics)
ok so i want to take the tranny off my engine, and ive never done this before. let alone im on my driveway, with barely any tools, doing it myself, and this is how far i've gotten

thats the amount of clearance i've managed to get, so far. but as much as i hammer, pry, kick and tug, it won't come out any further than that. what am i doing wrong? u'd figure, with that much clearance, it would pop out easily at this point. but things only got tougher. any suggestions?

lol, i wish.
i'm removing the tranny for 2 reasons
1 - This thing is heavy as ****, and I need to bring it to my shed (no garage
)
2 - Tranny has a piece of axle aparrently lodged in it which needs to be pressed out

remove the ground strap wire you still have attached to the tranny on top. take a small crow bar or something to wedge with and work your way around the tranny. the input shaft holds into the engine fairly tough. If you know you have all bell housing bolts removed, cables , sensors, etc. it should come apart.
Or else just grab on either side of it and jerk it back and forth while pulling it out towards you. It will come. Just double check everything!!!!!
