Re: How Do I Turn Off Seat Belt Reminder!!

i don't have time to search for you, but trust me, there are threads on about how to do this. i wouldn't recommend it, tho. in my line of work, i get to see a lot of car crashes, and the ones where they didn't use setbelts are usually the nastiest. i had one about six months ago where a small truck rolled over a couple times. the passenger, who wasn't belted, was thrown out the window, and about 50 yards into a parking lot. he was actually cut in half by a "no parking" sign he hit while flying through the air. the driver, who was wearing his seatbelt, walked away from the crash, and was standing there speaking with the police when we showed up.

Re: How Do I Turn Off Seat Belt Reminder!!

to turn off the beeping you unplug the wire under your seat that leads the the seatbelt but i would also agree that you should always buckle up even if you are a good driver but you dont know how everyone else is. by the way when you unplug the sensor you activate a light on your dash but no alarm.

Re: How Do I Turn Off Seat Belt Reminder!!

The only way to do this without any warning lights or alarms is to cut the actual metal piece out of another car and plug it into the seat belt receaver. That way the car thinks you are actually belted in.

Re: How Do I Turn Off Seat Belt Reminder!!

I total at least one vehicle a year. (Yes, I pay a lot for insurance.) I do not wear my belt. There are two of several accidents that I have been in that if I was wearing my belt I would be dead now. So I just don't wear it. To all the critics yes it does save more lives than it takes but it does take a few.

One of the accidents in question was in a Ford Focus ZX3. I was driving the vehicle started to slide side ways. The vehicle was actually sliding at a 90 degree angle pointing left. My wife and I slid into the median and hit a drainage ditch which caused the car to go airborne and roll to the right. When it landed it crushed the drivers side roof from the A to the C pillar. The roof was soo crushed it bent over the head rest and the back of the drivers seat. If I had been belted in it would have crushed my skull and I would be dead. Because I was not wearing my belt it threw me in to the passengers side and I walked away with only minor lacerations
