Acura RDX swap

I have a question. I know the RDX is still very new so the engine is still pricey. But has anyone heard about the ability to swap the engine in a 7th gen? I think that it would be better then the K20 and the K24 because its already turboed. I think it has 240 hp and 260 ft.lbs. Thats 40 more hp and 100 more ft.lbs then the k24 and you can just upgrade the turbo instead of buying a complete kit. I don't have the money to do this I was just seeing I anyone has heard anything about it yet? Thanks.

Re: Acura RDX swap

It could probably be made to work eventually, but it would end up being cheaper, and easier to swap, then turbo/supercharge a K20/24.

Re: Acura RDX swap

i also remember hearing that the motor is taller than D-series so if it was possible...there would be hood clearance issues

Re: Acura RDX swap

The way the block is cast... it'll only work with the SH-AWD transmission.... so um, Unless you want to do an AWD conversion and spend lots of money, frankenstein is the way to go.
Not to mention its mass air metered, the turbo is integrated into the manifold, the throttle faces up and backwards, adding an intercooler on top probably also makes the motor too tall to clear any car hood.

Re: Acura RDX swap

I don't think it's worth the hassle. Is it possible, sure it is! anything is possible. But to make this thing as popular as the K20 or the B series swap is next to nothing at all. Honda really needs to come out with a sport compact turbo. I heard the 07 s2000 is going to be turbo.
