question bout stock spkrs
Hey guys, this may be a ridiculous question, but here goes...
i bought my civic used, and i'm not sure if the previous owner changed the speakers on the rear deck.
what company are the stock speakers that come on a 2003 civic ex coupe?
the one's that are in there now are pioneers...

LX has pioneers in the rear, havent busted my doors open to see what there, but wouldnt be suprised if they were pioneers as well. When I first got my car (used) I had wondered if they were upgrades too, but I flipped though the manual and found out I couldnt brag about them, ha.
How you think they sound?
How you think they sound?
pretty good, i mean, i have a pioneer deh-6800mp w/ cb-100ii and the rear speakers seem to be putting out a near reasonable amount of sound...
what i really want to do is get a jl audio stealthbox in the tunk, infinity kappa 6x9s in the rear deck and maybe infinitys for the front doors, i dunno what kinda tweeters or amps i need.
any way, thanks for the info on the stock speakers...where can i look it up in the manual?

They're stock pioneers. You're not going to be able to swap in 6x9 oval speakers. Aftermarket ones are too deep. You'll either have to retrofit in some other, shallower size, or remove the springs in favor of some gas struts.
you can put the 6x9 ovals in, just dynamat well and a lot as itll either gap your rear deck or you can dremmel down and dynamat the little crossbar on one side. You can always remove the crossbars as some people have done, although I think that screws your trunk up.
The make it fit options are always there - just be prepared to pay to go back to stock...

I replaced the ones in my rear deck, it was too deep so i had to take out the trunk springs, but they just fvcked up on me last night (old speakers), so now im looking for another set. i was looking at the kappas too, and i think i found one thats near a 3'' mounting depth (stock size) so hopefully theyll fit and i can put back my trunk springs
i dunno how good a resource crutchfield.com is, but the website referred me to a pair of Infinity Kappa 692.7i speakers. they have a mounting depth of
3 and 3/16"... is this too much?
