Replacing tie rod end
Replacing tie rod end
I did a search and found this diagram.

It looks like I need parts 7,23,24. When installing the tie rod end, how tight should it be on the tie rod? And I know I got to get an allignment after its installed.
Thanks

Thanks1) Unscrew nut that holds tie rod end onto tie rod
2) Pull out cotter pin on tie rod end
3) Unscrew tie rod end nut
4) Loosen tie rod end from steering arm
5) Screw tie rod end off
6) Reverse process
The nut that holds the tie rod end onto the tie rod should be has tight as you can get it. Tighten that after the tie rod end is back into the steering arm and somewhat tightened down to the steering arm.

The tech will loosen and tighten the nut when he/she does the alignment. Just make sure it is tight when you are done. It is unlikely that your alignment will change that much even if the nut is loose in between the time you are done and the time you get an alignment, unless you wait over a week...i.e. don't be lazy and get your *** to an alignment rack
