no, it is dangerous and pointless unless you are gutting the car.
And can we get threads in the right subforums.

B pillar bars are dangerous... especially when u have passengers in the back...
C pillar bars are a little bit better in that way...
But in the end... there's really no point in reinforcing the pillars for street use.
Unless your car is for track, totally gutted, and you can use those bars to mount harnesses to.

Most "tuners" slap these things in their cars 1) incorrectly, 2) without knowing that they are dangerous for street use, and 3) without realizing they do nothing for performance.

And we all know how dangerous the fake cages are... so why put in something similar. Its really not wise to potentially have broken metal bars flying around inside the car if you get nailed. Its not going to hold u if you get Tboned, it'll just snap in half and who knows where the broken pieces end up, not to mention the dangers of using harnesses on the street. Getting folded in half when the car rolls and having no way out isn't exactly my idea of a good sunday afternoon.
Second... what do you need a C pillar bar for?
The C-pillars hold the roof up, the back deckshelf and the frame for the seat backs are below it ,making a second box frame.... it doesn't get a whole lot stronger than that. Its not a big hole like a hatch back door

Whatever dude. You take the risk. When the cage collapses when you get hit and squashes your head, it's you who be paying. It is a stupid part that does nothing in a street car and can be dangerous...do you need more reasons NOT to get it?
Im not saying I would put one in my car...I think they (cages) are stupid.... I wanted a c-pillar to make the car stronger but if it doesnt make it any stronger than there is no point...
on the subject of C pillar reinforcement... this is a true story of my friend.
He was taking an off-ramp off of a highway, and he was going too fast. He drives a 96 civic hatchback and he had a C-pillar bar. So he was going too fast... understeers on the turn and the car goes off the road and rolls about 10 times before landing upside down... you can probably picture what the car would look like after that. Thankfully, everyone was okay, and we looked at the car afterwards... we found that the C-pillar bar actually withstood the rolling and was still reinforcing the c-pillars in 1 piece... so it was pretty amazing for what a stupid $50 piece of metal could do for a hatchback.

I'm going to be running a B Pillar bar for my Takata Harness, i have never heard of one person being killed by a harness bar. In order to correctly mount harness you need the bar.
