well wtf i was driving on the free way 5 mins with the ac on, then i turn it all off and sit at a light for a minute, and as im accelerating up a gentle hill around 3k rpms, the cel comes on. crap so i just drive it home, it feels no different so i know its not a severe problem, then i plug in my trusty ebay code reader. it gives these codes. im not sure how to read them... but i did find the last code in the thread here its for vtec malfunction!

now are those first 3 codes supposed to be read like 0100 for 01 like that? if so i have some serious issues. any help would be nice cause i normally have a very well maintained car that runs great.

ps. i had the oil changed and put new plugs in about a month ago and had no issues until now. nothing has been changed except dash lights color a week ago. i got gas yesterday from the usual mobil and i drove around quite a bit before now without problem.

when i turn the car to ON, the cel stays on like normal and then before going off it flashes a few times. and then it only gave the first 3 codes.

my oil level is above full, im not sure if that would cause this problem, its been like that for a month tho.

clear the codes and drive around and see which one comes back. not sure what the 01,02,03 mean.

i did. cleared, drove around and going up another gentle hill it came back on when rpm was between 3-4k. same codes. and when its on, the shifting becomes slower, like when you first drive before engine warms up. i cleared again and so far it hasnt come back, altho the car feels like it lost some power.

Gearbox, Not sure what scanner you have but I had similar issue. with 92,000 miles I CEL came on. Was a misfire on cylinder 1,2,3. So I replace plugs and then it did come on again like month later. This time misfire on 1 and 4. Not sure why. I switch coil packs around (1 w/ 2 and 4 w/ 3) and now see what happens. I am wondering if your 01, 02, 03 errors are the misfire errors. I did not have that Vtec error though.

i know its not misfiring, so maybe those are just nothing. i took it in to have the oil level drained to normal level, the light came on right as i drove away from the shop. so tonight im checking the solenoid filter screen. until then, i have to keep rpm under 3k.

and if thats not enough problem, my car also does not start sometimes. once a day now ive tried to start and it would just keep cranking but no engine start. finally the second try it will crank more and stumble to a start.

hmmm, thats weird... the starting problem sounds like that immobilizer thing but I know u usually put it to the On position for a few seconds before you crank. Possible faulty fuel filter? I dunno

could be, or maybe bad fuel pump. well i took off the vtec solenoid and cleaned the surfaces and gasket, pushed on the lil button a few times, and then put it all back. i went for a long drive used 5 gallons gas going fast and slow the light never came on. so... hopefully it was just sticking and i fixed it.
