RSX-S shifter issues

anyone else have this problem? ...

whenever I go into reverse, my shifter stick hits the center console where the boot is. Not quite sure how to explain it, but I'm sure u can figure it out.

I'm wondering if anyone has a k20a2 swap with the stock civic shifter. I know I won't have the same problem the stock shifter, but at the same time, I'm not sure if it will fit [because one guy said it wouldn't ... so I took his word for it].

on our civic shifters, the stick is bent to the left ... on the rsx, it's bent to the right ... so it hits the center console while going into reverse ...

are you talking base 5 speed or 6 speed my buddy club SS is bent to the left not the right in my rsx

I thought u could use our stock shifter if you just trim some plastic on the shifter assembly where reverse would be. That way it might fit with our stock trim piece.

well, u know. the title says RSX-S shifter, so I would assume that everybody knew that I was talking about 6-speeds ...

scansel: no idea ... that's why I was wondering if anyone knew. I've been using the 6-speed box from day one ...

I would try putting in our stock shifter and see if you can reach 6th. If not, try taking a dremel and trimming a section so you can reach it. Then see if it works with teh stock trim piece

i too am perfectly fine... never had any probelms... stick shifter... type s shifter.. and even with the DC short shifter adapter on there too and had no problems

I had the type S shifter, and it looked the same as my 7thgen shifter, so I just left the 7thgen in and have not had a single problem?? I also have the DC ss adaptor.
