I installed an new shifter ****..........

and now the shifter boot won't stay up because I don't have that clip from the stock one on it. Does anyone know how to make my shifter boot stay up without buying a new one with an elastic? Is there anyway to use the clip from my old shifter **** in conjunction w/ the new one??Thanks.

take some thick tape.. and keep wraping it around in one area... and the boot should fit tightly on the tape..

Also someone said earlier that they used a rubber washed to keep the boot off

I cut the tie off the old collar and used another zip tie and put in a rubber electrical grommet inside the boot. I'll post picks ASAP

i have the same problem i was thinking bout using double sided tape and wrapping it around the inisde of the clip.....good idea or no??? let me kno...post pics HondaSport01!!!!! please!!!!!

Didn't your shifter come with a thin nut to keep the boot up? That is what I used to put my boot up to the bottom of my type r shifter...
