I installed an new shifter ****..........

and now the shifter boot won't stay up because I don't have that clip from the stock one on it. Does anyone know how to make my shifter boot stay up without buying a new one with an elastic? Is there anyway to use the clip from my old shifter **** in conjunction w/ the new one??Thanks.

take some thick tape.. and keep wraping it around in one area... and the boot should fit tightly on the tape..
hope that helps

I cut the tie off the old collar and used another zip tie and put in a rubber electrical grommet inside the boot. I'll post picks ASAP

Didn't your shifter come with a thin nut to keep the boot up? That is what I used to put my boot up to the bottom of my type r shifter...
