Just curious if anyone is running the 12w3v3 woofer and used it to replace a 12w3v2. What differences do you notice, if any?
Also, please list if you are using a sealed or ported enclosure and what sort of amplifier is driving the woofer(s).

I don't have either sub, but we got them in at the shop a couple weeks ago.
Asthetics are definately nicer. They switched from those crappy spade terminal connections to nicer spring loaded barrel connection type. All W3v3's are single voice coil now (2,4, or 8).
The magnet is larger, woofer is a little bit deeper, its definately heavier. Hooked up in our sound room, the W3v3 is noticebly louder than the W3v2. Sounds the same to me however, though I always thought the W3v2 was a great sounding woofer to begin with.
I believe the W3v3 should handle more power than the v2, we installed two 12W3v3's in a car with a 1000/1, handles the power great. The e1800D should probably be a great match for a pair of v3's.
In all honesty, its not a huge upgrade going from a v2 to a v3.
Also worth noting, the recommended enclosure size went up, I forget the actual numbers, but I think it was .5 cubic feet larger on the sealed and 1 cubic foot larger with a ported enclosre

Thank you Slick. I've found most of your posts good and helpful. It's good to know that you are also working with a JL dealer. If I ever need more equipment I will check in with you.
I suppose I will keep my v2 for now.
Edited - added the below text:
Slick, where did you read that the enclosure size went up? According to www.jlaudio.com the enclosure advice stays exactly the same, except for the 4ohm v3 which lists a very slightly smaller enclosure (sealed). I believe they work well in larger enclosures, I just wanted to know what the source of information was.
Second edit -
The specific woofer & specs I am talking about is the 12w3v2 vs. 12w3v3. Sealed enclosures.
