Warranty Issues

The other day I was driving on the freeway and and I heard a scraping noise underneath my car. I drive a Honda Civic Ex (2003). When the scraping noise was gone I looked in my rear view mirror and I saw a black disc flying off. Now my A/C doesnt work. I took it to the dealer and they are looking into it. My car is still under warranty.( I have the silver warranty). They say that there is something wrong with my compressor near my clutch?? (and the clutch is bad) They are getting a specialist to look at it on Monday to see if my warranty covers it. For some odd reason I think they are going to tell me that the warranty doesnt cover it
Since I dont know jack about cars Im trying to see if anyone knows if this should be under warranty or not. I know havent given you guys much to go on, but any help would be appreciated. Thx

yea dont worry the a/c is covered. mine wasnt getting as cold so i took it in and they recharged the r134a free. it sounds like the compressor blew apart so it might take a while for them to order the part and fix it. But it should be covered.

I got the details on what is supposed to be wrong. My compressor is messed up and my coils are bad. Apparently the dealer is expecting me to pay bout $500 for the coils.

haha um i would make sure that is a wearable item (and is then not covered). but usually the a/c system is covered unless they find some kind of road damage. call around other shops and ask.

its very unlikely that the coils are bad. usually they work or they dont. and i dont see how the coils coould have been effected by he a/c compressor. sonds like they wan to make some money off of you as well. instead of replacing them through the dealer i would call around to some junk yards and see if you can find them on a low milage motor and buy them if they are bad in your car. some how i highly doubt it but hey anything can happen. it just isnt a common problem on our car since we have a coil per cyl and no wires.
