Question Engine Sounds Like A Diesel Engine???

Ive changed the motor oil every 5K, and with synthetic. But for the past 3 months I noticed engine sounds wierd. At idle speed and low speeds it sounds like a small diesel engine or something. Any ideas on what it could be??????

what kind of noise? clicking sounds like valves, or loud noises? could be anything from valve adjustment to broken motor mount to clogged iac valve.

Cracked Exhaust Manifold. Most likely right where the heat shield does not cover it. Apparently the Honda engineer was drunk at work when this manifold was designed.

that and the tubes get clogged to easy. that prolly what causes it when it superheats. i had mine off and there was tons of carbon around the ports.

I have the same prob as well. I am going in to have it checked tomorrow by the dealer. Just curious if it's an exhaust manifold how much do they go for and does anyone have one they want to get rid off.

Just In...

I just got back from the dealer to get some other work done (water pump and drive belts). Anyway, they looked into it and it seems that I do have a cracked manifold. They want too much to get it done. Hopefully it will be easy to DIY.

I was thinking it was the manifold or exhaust also. Cause I can only hear it when I am taking off. But thanks I check the valves and all that to see what it is.

It's generally cheaper to get an aftermarket header and do it your self. Often you can find the stock ones cheaper on eBay or this site too.
