Question ?

I have a 2001 Ex and I have an AEM CAI with bypass. Last week, I installed the DC-sport ceramic header. I made sure all was sealed and torqued to specs. Under hard excelleration I am hearing an exhaust sound that could be defined as a nexhaust leak or rush of air. Covering the tail pipe does build considerable pressure.

Anybody else notice a difference in the noise level with this application?

I know that headers are thinner and omit more internal engine sounds. Tonight I will install my Thermal rear section and I hope to get even more grins with this buggy but I know that the noise level will increase and then who knows what I will hear. I tend to do things one at a time to get the full effect and rule out side effects. The car is running great and I am loving life in my EX.

Is the leak coming from the front? If so, did you remember to put the donut gasket back on the header? That's one thing I forgot and then I had to tear it all apart again, afterwards it was cool though....

Yes I remembered the lower gasket and yes the moise is coming from the front. I am thinking about reinstalling the stock exhaust manifold to see what happens and then re installing the headers with fresh gaskets and some spray tack. This could just be the sound of this engine with headers but I am not real sure I like what I am hearing, sounds like a leak and there ain't no more torque on these bolts. Before anyone goes judging my ability I am old and have built and raced more engines than most of you guys have ever touched but this 1.7 liter stuff is outa my area of expertise!

Anything you guys can cough up'll be appreciated!
