Is it really necessary to remove the reverse light switch when installing AEM CAI?
once you get in there and start going through the process of doing the install, you'll notice the OEM bracket you need to remove will be near impossible to remove with out first removing the reverse light switch.
Just spend the $2-$3, go down to the hardware store and buy the 27mm deep socket, you'll be happy once you did.

Yah I got the tool I just didn't want to risk getting anything in there tonight cuz its real windy out tonight. But it's on now, and definately worth the time of putting it on, maybe 15.6s this weekend? I doubt it though
I have yet to install my AEM CAI but after going to 3 auto part shops including two pepboys I finally found a 27MM deep socket at my fourth stop at sears. It was $10. And you also need to buy a 1/2 inch drive. At least I think that will be easier for the 40lb of torque required.
yeah i rushed when i did mine i went a day with a geryriged short ram. lol i had a friend with the tools (and deep deep socket) luckly. but yes you have to take the light switch off to take that bolt off, but it is worth it. and just make sure you have time and all the tools.
