Since most of us have the emenage as our tunning control I had a quick thought. The emenage harness hooks up to all the ignition coils but not the knock sensor. Our knock sensor wiring is untouched. The knock sensor is supposed to retard timing when knock and detonation is heard automaticly. So with the emenage piggybacking and controlling the air and fuel. Would the stock knock sensor still retard timing if it detects knock? Then that would explain why some of us are running 10 and 12psi with nothing done to the ignition maps. Any thoughts?

But I think if there is a knock sensor to preven detonation, then detonation shouldnt be an issue (power loss may be, but no detonation) right???

not really. the knock sensor will only retard timing and add fuel to a certain extent. Its parameters are defined by the ecu. Things like the AEM have a knock control option that can add a large amount of fuel and pull out a large amount of timing until the car stops detonating.
