Rear Wiper Conversion- possible?

As I got into my car this morning and noticed that my back windshield was covered with due, and I noticed that the Intergra next to me had a rear wiper, but I did not. Is it possible to take a rear wiper unit/motor from say an Intergra, and intergrate it into the rear break light unit on our cars? I realize you'd have to cut a hole in the rear winshield, but does anyone know the difficulty of hooking up a rear wiper motor?

i'm thinking you'd be safer leaving the 3rd brake light of our cars alone (especially as far as inspections are concerned, they'll nail ya for that) I'd say that somehow drilling into the roof just above the rear windshield, and having it like "sweeping" back and forth from above would be your best bet... In my opinion, it would be a lil cheaper and more chances of success (i'm not sure, but aren't windshields tempered glass?? cause if so, a drilling attempt would shatter ur entire window..) I think that'd be a sweet deal so if you get anything done, so dont forget to post ur success story just my .02, good luck!

The Japanese 7th gen civic has them. Why don't we? I swear, the rear windshield is too flat not to have one. Whatever. I hate the way they downgrade good stuff when they import them to the US.

I have the OEM spoiler with a break light on it, so that piece with the stock break light is just usless in my car now anyway.

I wouldn't mind having a rear wiper. Sometimes the snow falls faster than the defrost can melt it. Although, the cost of installing one properly probably isn't worth it.

i was thinking about doing this too, since even before i got my civic. i miss the one i had in my 88 dodge omni. sounds like it would be too expensive to do it right though

having a rear wiper would be really useful but thats the small luxurious items that honda takes out in order to provide us with cheaper prices. just carry a brush and wipe off the dew manually or something.
