$6500 in damage
$6500 in damage
Yeah thats right i got 6500 in damage today to my car due to some idiot that was driving a dump truck filled with rocks that couldnt seem to figure out how to put a cover on his load. i was about 10-15 car lengths back and was just getting anhiliated with golfball size rocks. I called the company and they told me to just take it up with my insurance company and i told them that they dont understand my insurance company isnt going to cover all this aftermarket **** i have. So what would u guys do. I already got 2 estimates and am planning on just suing there company but should i let my insurance company take care of it??

call your insurance and tell them to take care of it by talking to the truck company. They are at fault, and your insurance should have no promlem going after the money.

did yoy get the plates of the truck? i had a truck that had rocks coming off the back once. one of the rocks hit my windshield, and cracked it, but because i didn't get their plate number, they 'couldn't say for sure that it was their truck'.
but i did notice that all their trucks were covered for a few weeks after that. i believe that there is a law about hauling trucks needing to be covered. if not, there should be!

Im now in the same boat as you. 2500.00 in damage from a dump truck. busted windshield, front bumper, totaled x-brace, destroyed exhaust. insurance doesnt want me driven the vic due to a fire concern, since the exhaust is bent so bad it bashes against the floor boards and is actually heating them up. rear section of the tcs is still good and up for sale if any one wants it.

depends on his coverage. if its a full policy than it will/should be covered under his comprehensive coverage. In that case its vary rare that the insurance will go after the truck company. this time around for me i could get the truck info i had to get off the highway ASAP.

i have full coverage and when someone rearended me, they were more than willing to take over and collect all the money from the other insurance.
i just bought painted parts off ebay and will be installing them myself...i was quoted 1400 from macco, and 1200 from another place
cost me about $500 for shipped and painted parts.
except the hood....ill get that fixed from a guy on clubsi...

spoke with the wife today...she says you will have to pay your deductable regardless but your company can claim it as comprehensive or collision. if it hits the ground first..its collision and will be on your record. if it was airborn, its comprehensive.
no....looks like the damage is going to stay for a while but i guess im kind of lucky i got a couple of body shops that owe me favors. But if i go to the meet you guys will see and the chips/scratches.
new headlight, new fender, new inner fender, new bumper, new bumper support under headlight, new grill coming soon....less than $500. i still need the plastic tray for under the front from a previous wreck and body work on the hood. ill probly get the hood fixed and a dent in the passenger side fender and in the drivers door fixed and the front end painted and blended professionally. maaco wanted $1800 for what i did myself though....
