Having problems with a body shop

Well two months ago i was involved a car accident which resulted my car gettin majorly screwed up. after 8k worth of damage estimated, i havent seen my car since its been at the shop. for the past two weeks they have been bs'in me about when I will be getting back. I would call on a Monday, every 2 days it would be delayed. The thing that pissed me off is that on Friday they told me they were painting the car. Then i start talking to a mechanic who was workin there cause I started yellin at the receptionist cause they keep bs'in. Instead of giving me the "we're painting the car" lie he says its getting aligned right now. I ask him if they figured what was wrong with the engine, they hadn't tested it yet. they wanted to have the front end assembled before they worked on the engine. I didn't wanna start yellin at him for being a moron cause they are going to scratch up a brand new paint job because of their stupidity. I then ask him did he fix the problem with the interior lighting, he just goes "uhhh, there's a problem with the lighting in the interior?" i just said yes, I stopped by the shop twice n told u guys, one of the times being with the owner. My insurance company knows about it. I call them today which was the supposed day they told me it would be done today. I get the "it will be done tomorrow" bs which i've been gettin. i asked them once again if the wiring for the interior lighting had been looked at and they still didn't look at it. they also told me it was on the alignment machine once again, so I asked "you guys gotta align it more than once I see" just to be a smartass. she tells me the car should be done tomorrow at noon. instead of calling them tomorrow, me n my roommate are going there to see if it's done. i'm betting it won't be so I'm gonna flip out on them. i'm def gonna ask for the owner n explain to him how disappointed i am with them and basically i'm not going to pay my deductable to them for their consistent lying.

The question is what can I do since they've been lying to me for two weeks? I might also call my insurance company to tell them what they've been doing. they've practically screwed with all my plans for the past two weeks.

yea... auto shops suck, they bullshit u forever. i had to wait a month for 3k worth of damage. most of the time i was waiting on the right part cuz they ordered the wrong one which took 2 weeks from cali which meant 2 weeks with no car. some bodyshops will treat u like royalty and sometimes they dont. depends on how much u pay em. i had 10k worth of damage on my moms car and they got it done in a month, same asmy time and it was perfect. runs like new.

damn same **** happened to me...I wrecked my car and didn't get it back until like 3 months later..With about 8k in damages, instead of using OEM parts they decide to use POS aftermarket parts to put on my car...Now I got gaps in my hood and driver side fender..

i got a fender bender that was worth 2k of damage. bodyshop also took about a month and half just to come thru. they would tell me "friday". then i call friday to see if its done, then he just says oh, next week. i visit them and the car hasnt even been touched yet. the way they worked on my car is all in one day. which i dont think is a good idea because problems can happen if everything is rushed into 1 work day.

on top of that, they left swirls all over my paint as they were washing and drying it.

next time you call them, tell them "its been awhile and my insurance company wants to know how longer it will take because they need to decide if they should provide you with a rental car or not."

by saying this, they will give you a more accurate date.
