Symptoms of a bad upper mount?

Symptoms of a bad upper mount. What are they? because I might be needing to buy new ones. And i've searched. And what company makes them? other then Tein and OEM.

I get this vibration in the steering wheel and a sound that sounds like my wheels are hopping over roads relatively flat. Similar to a rattle

coil bind. when you turn the wheel and it kinda stays that way. or when you turn the wheel and you hear a springy noise.

Vibration in steering wheel? all the time or at certain speeds? when did you start getting all this? did you hit something or install something? It doesnt sound like its the upper mount. kinda sounds like you just dropped your car and arent used to it.

Thanks for replying.

I'm dropped on Sportlines with blown struts, Its been making this sound even b4 the sportlines about 6000 miles ago. I should mention that I hear the noise when the car is going straight at all speeds. Its like springy sound, like the wheel is bouncing on and off the road. Hard to discribe but its a pretty loud noise. Sounds like the whole suspension assembly is woubling in there. Hard to discribe. I liked to know becasue im a Do it yourselfer and my Tokicos are on the way and I wasnt sure if its neccessary to buy new upper mounts or not

there is your problem right there, you have blown struts. Your car isnt going to ride like a dream with blown struts. I bet once you change them, your problem will go away.

"like the wheel is bouncing on and off the road"
that is probably caused by the blown strut.. I wouldnt be surprised if the noise and vibration were because of it too.
but yeah it definitely doesnt sound like its the uppermount at all...

get some new struts all the way around, then get an alignment. these 2 things will make worlds of difference.
