D17 TSI Turbo Kits
D17 TSI Turbo Kits
I know that allot of you have questions/reservations about the D17 TSI Turbo Kits. We just got off the phone with TSI and hopefully this thread will help to clear up any of your concerns.
Main Issue: Intercooler piping fitment
TSI claims that they are working on new instructions for the D17 kit. The current instructions instruct the installer to route the intercooler piping the wrong way. We have pictures from TSI showing the proper way to install the intercooler piping. The piping fits just fine if installed correctly.
TSI is also working on an installation video for the D17 kit. I don't have a release date for the video but when I do I report back in this thread.
PLEASE LIST ANY OTHER CONCERNS/QUESTIONS YOU HAVE AND WE WILL ANSWER THEM IN THIS THREAD
If any of you are thinking of purchasing the TSI kit but want a better way to tune we are offering the following fuel package for an extra $99 (on top of the kit price):
GReddy E-Manage Main Unit
GReddy Ignition Harness
GReddy Injector Harness
GReddy Pressure Sensor
GReddy Pressure Sensor Harness
Please note this fuel package is a substitute for the TSI Fuel Option
* We can also work out fuel system packages with our Return Conversion Kit

i'm thinkin' the same exact thing as exturbo6.
good to make these changes now, because there's people like me out there who have already turned 6 people away from getting their kits who had the money.

This will be going on for awhile. We want you guys to be comfortable with the TSI kit. We feel that the GReddy fuel option will give you guys the most bang for your buck

I still need it. I am getting tuned monday or tuesday, whenever I can get in. The next thing I need is the clutch. Give me about 2-3 weeks, and I should have ordered by than.
So can you trade the TSI unit +100 for the emanage?

I will give major props to Street Level Performance though, previous to what I said. Since my install, i uninstalled the TSI Injection Control Unit, and installed the eManage. It's made major major differences!
After the eManage install, I don't know how I ever went without it.

I got my new ICU, and man, this sh*t is niiiiiiice. I am in love with boost. My friend was like, damn, I need a turbo (2 friends actually, hehe). It tuned much nicer with the new unit, settings at, 0=10, 1=12, 2=14, 3-16, etc for psi. just a little bit rich. it pulls so nicely though. 5th gear is pretty sweet for passing now on the freeway at 1/3 throttle. Im going easy on it til thursday (7 days) I am set up for my tune than. I am going in on saturday to show them the ICU, and maybe they can squeeze me in then. that would be pimp. I love how the BOV goes off on the freeway everytime i go up a hill and it evens out. makes me want to nut sooooo bad. Im suprised I didnt, lol. Order this kit though people, you will not be dissapointed.
Oh, and eternalbluevic- I reach 9lbs even with the ICU set for 7. No matter what its at, it reaches 9 if I go WOT. I only hit that a couple times in 3rd. I dont want to hit WOT until I am tuned. My friend kept saying to do it while we were tuning, and IM like, OK, than "CRAP" I only went 1/2 or 1/3 throttle, lol. I cant wait for the tune, I am sooooooooo excited.

already asked that question, its a no no, cuz TSI wont take back a used part, or take it back period.
What type of settings are you running KalliGarri? Mine seem to be soooo much higher than everybody elses.
Peace
oh, and does your unit reset on you ALL THE TIME!!!! my last unit did that, and so is my new one, its pissin me off big time. It takes 20 minutes to set the psi fuel levels alone
