You all better do this upgrade, cuz you can not reliably run more than 5lbs without retarding ignition. TSI's "help" with timing, does not do a damn thing. It is hard to find somebody who will actually tune my car with the TSI unit, cuz I will basically blow my motor pretty quick. They say 5 psi is safe, so I got a greddy profec b (since TSIs boost controller Doesnt work) today for a 100 used from a friend. Emanage fixes that problem w/timing, as well as EMS (do they have one yet, its been covered like 128791827 times, but I forget) So you all better get Emanage with this, or you'll blow your motor pretty quick or spend another 800 getting all this.
TSIs unit is basically good for adding fuel and turbo timer, other than that, it isnt that great of a setup, IMO.
Oh, and dont think you wont reach over 6lbs, regardless of what everybody else says. I have hit 13psi and 11 psi with the controller set at 7. It is very very very very very possible to hit over 13 psi as well, considering I was at about 1/2 throttle, lol. It was definately a nice feel though, but do not rely in TSI's unit for very much. Its good to get you going w/out very many precautions.
SO BUY THE EMANAGE, and if you are relying on TSIs unit, I would consider upgrading ASAP, as I will be FOR SURE!!!!
The kit fit pretty bombly though. Fit sooo much nicer than I was expecting, only their electronics suck, especially considering the first unit only showed up half way, lol.

I Just got a TSI Kit last week. I am thinking about getting the eManage right away to avoid all of the tune problems I keep hearing about with the TSI ICU. What else would I have to buy besides the eManage unit for it to integrate properly with the TSI kit?

Is the pressure harness for the emanage for controlling boost, oil pressure, whats up?? Just curious. I will start out with the emanage w/timing harness and buy a few more. I can get tuned to 8 psi if I can control the ignition. In 120 degree summers, you can say bye bye to my motor anything over 5 lbs. Im hoping Ill be ok running 5psi tuned, w/out retarding timing. Ill get retuned in a couple months when its about 105 out.

Have all the manifold fitment issues been totally cleared? I read that it was in another post, but i just want to be extra sure.
Does it come complete with all fittings, hoses, clamps etc?
Honestly, how would you compare it to dezods kit?

I haven't seen any 5 speed numbers with Dezod's kit so I can't compare performance. I do know that a few people are in the 13's with the TSI kit.

You will have to shave the manifold slightly. A dremel works just fine for it. A grinder would be much faster though. You do keep A/C with the TSI kit as well. Its a pretty good kit, just order the emanage instead of using TSIs unit. its ok for fuel, but does nothing for timing, regardless of what their directions say. They say it adds more fuel to eliminate preignition. It doesnt do that, they try to make you feel comfortable using the unit. It is no more than a vafcII w/a turbo timer. but still a nice kit, I am very happy, as you would be. Just do the deal from Streetlevelperformance w/the emanage for a 100 more

oh, and I dont think the manifold will go on w/out shaving it. It wasnt the A/C that was in the way. They shaved part of the manifold for ya, I just have no idea why they shaved it where they did, lol. It fits fine where it was shaved at, just the top right side (drivers side) needs to be shaved, when you try to install it, you will see what spots blocking it, only like a 1/10 or 1/8" needs to be shaven, nothing that will damage anything at all. its such a heavy/thick manifold. wont bust up on ya.
other fitment issues, were one pipe by the drivers side wheel. best bet is to have one of the pipes custom made. I used a flexitube that we got from the store the last night of install. So I just bend it to where I need it (basically straight, their pipe was bent in the middle) Your best bet is to get a custom pipe though, considering your right hand turns will be VERY wide. lol if I turn right it hits the pipe. well only on sharp turns, but its very driveable like that, not tooooooooo bad. everything else is fine, just takes some messing with to figure out how it all goes together. All the issues other people had, should be all fixed, or they installed wrong. JMO, not a bad install, have a few days (weekend) and a few smart friends helping you so you just work through any difficulties that much quicker. We were up til 6 in the morning a couple days in a row, and the last morning (sunday) we got to fire it up around 4:00 am. Woke up all the neighbors, especially since I had no exhaust. I had to hacksaw it off, cuz the shop that put it on, welded it all together. Stock exhaust should bolt up fine.
Oh, and the B-Pipe will rattle against the sway bar, you could get that remade/bent for cheap as hell.
Get the kit though, you'll be happy.

dont forget a clutch as well people. I will have money monday, tuesday at the latest next week, but I also need possibly a stage 3 clutch. Stage 2 would probably work, but 3 would be better. The wastegate doesnt work right, or is open too much. I hit 13 lbs under 4,000 rpms, at not WOT. I need to figure this out, and apparently my profec-b wont keep the boost below what the wastegate is set at. I thought it would lower boost if wanted, not just raise. I am having some issues, but these are normal turbo issues, not TSI issues. Their kit went on nicely compared to everything Ive been freakin out about. I didnt worry about anything on their kit, since from looking at it, you can tell it will be a nice fit.
They were tuning my car today, and it slipped like hell over 5000 rpms. They got me a 12:1 a/f ratio, and didnt charge for it. So I am set for under 5 or 6 lbs for now. Pretty sweet. Ill give them all my business, since the first shop gave me the finger, and set they dont tune today when I set it up for today, and even went down and talked to them, and saw my name for thursday. I went to SRD (superior racing development) and they are the chillest people compared to the others. Nice, smart, and helpful, and free today
Clutch still the same price for stage 3, or whats that run, also pricing on Stage 2, Thanks a lot, let me know
edit - my dumbness

Exedy doesnt make a "stage 3" clutch for the D17. Neither does ACT for that matter. The ACT Xtreme pressure plate or the Exedy Cerametallic is all you'll need. Exedy is cheaper than ACT. Stage 2 clutches are going to be more expensive than stage 1 clutches no matter what brand you choose.
