To Those Who Have a Automatic Transmission, Please Do Me A Favor???
If you have a 01-05 civic coupe or sedan with automatic transmission, please go outside to your car and do me a quick favor. Put your car in reverse, neutral, and drive (With or without the car running) and tell me if you have slack in the shifter **** in those three gears. Basically can you move it back and forth in those 3 gears maybe like a bit less then 1/4 inch or so. Or tell me if when you are in those 3 gears, you can barely move the **** back and forth. I ask because I cant remember if mine was like that or not. I just did my oil pan and after reconnecting the shift cable, it seems like it wasnt like that before. Please do me this favor. I want to know if it is normal or not.
On mine, when in those 3 gears, I can put my hand on the **** and it will move back and forth like a 1/4 of an inch or so. Like there is too much free play.
Also when you put your car is the II on position, does the P and N light up, because my P and D light up?

Its not difficult to putting it from reverse to neutral then to drive.. may take minimal force but it shouldnt be like butter.. oh and going from neutral into reverse requires u to put ur foot on the brake
oh and about moving it 1/4 inch.. i dont think mine does that

well I see that some people have the same issue.
Now lets go to the next thing, turn your car on but dont start it, does the P and N indicator come on or the P and D indicator?
