turbo is going to artificialy increase your compression by stuffing the air into the engine. Its sort of like making the engine bigger without actualy making the engine bigger if that makes any sense. So yeah it will wear things out earlier but good parts, lower compression and modest boost will minimize the bad effects. one of the best things about civics is that stock engines can be had really cheap so if you blow it up you can always find a replacment engine.

you should be able to run low psi on stock internals no problem. honda makes the parts beyond spec. even the stock crankshaft can take 600+ hp.

well, you can do certain things to help out the car.... like spark plugs, injectors, high octain fuel, and synthetic oil..... things should be ok.... but obviously if you floor it all the time... well, things will break eventually.

generally, back in the 80's, turbo cars dont last as long as N/A cars.... but things have changed I guess.....

8 lbs. should be the maximum for a manual transmission. check oil and fluid levels weekly. use sythetic oils. hopefully in the future aftermarket companies will offer stronger internals.
