my eq install! (night pics)
Here it is. I got it from knocturnaltkr and installed it in the same spot he had it. Finally got it mounted and it looks nice. Only thing is it's really bright at night, but I can always cover it with the arm rest. I have it wired to the front speakers only so I don't lose my deck functions. It's got a couple extra bands that the cd player doesn't have, so it helps with tuning. Highs sound great. Anyway, here are pics. This is probably my last mod.

Nice. The only thing I don't like is the crazy brightness at night. It outshines all my dash lights (which are bright by themselves). I'll post pics in an hour when I get back home hopefully.
Oh an EQ processes sound coming from the deck before sending it the the speakers. I kindof got this for fun, since my deck already has a 13 band graphic eq. Normally, an eq is good if your deck has only minor tuning adjustments like just bass or treble. This lets you tune five different frequencies from 50Hz to 10kHz. Better sound control.

Thanks. I really wish it wasn't so bright, but it doesn't look like that can be changed. It's lit by blue LED light. Oh well looks good at least.

looks great. that brightness is amazing.. u should just try and boost up ur dash ones a little more to match with it. damn sexy.
btw, how much does an EQ cost? and what brand is that one u have?

Ugh, I guess I'll go take some. Oh and I found the "dimmer" for the eq. And by that I mean opening it up and putting e-tape around certain places to make it light up less. It's still bright, but not blinding.
Gearbox, I'm installing an AudioControl dash-mounted EQ in my car, and I want to put it in the center console like you did. I had it in the dash below the head unit and it looked good, but maybe a little too good to thieves, since you can't hide it when you leave the car
. I like how you did yours
. I took the console apart and there's plenty of room for it, but there's nothing to mount it to. Exactly how did you mount yours
?

OT Question: When you did the blueing of the ac controls, on the hot/cold control, how did you get the paint off the piece (I removed the gel thing on the back, but the piece is still painted)?
