hi,

I have a technical question:

How much eight can the top of our car support? That is, can I pus a TV (65 Kg), or a canoe on the top without it collapsing?

thanks

well it has to hold the wait of the car if it roles over. But you might get a dent in the top of your car if you put a big *** tv on it. A canoe is different, cause the weight is distributed differently.

weight problem

Actually I am planning to carry a 32" TV...I estimate it to be 70Kg...

of course I will try to put a triangular stand (those you can get from IKEA) and some soft layer on the car top before putting the TV on.

So, will I avoid dent? or should I better just spend 30$ to ask the store to ship it?

thanks a lot

The dent would cost more than the $30 shipping.

If its on a rack (Thule, Yakama, etc...) and you put the TV on the crossbars and strap it down, it'll probably hold, but in all honesty... rent a Uhaul for 19.99 or get the thing delivered.

Or ask a friend with a truck or something to pick it up for you. Then buy him lunch, should be less than $30 :P

LoL. Here in Vancouver, they're all pretty Hummers, Cadillac Escalades, and Ford Excursions. Don't expect them to get their cars dirty to help you move anything.
