hey guys few questions...
Hey all, ive been talking to WhiteRabbit for a few days now about subs and amp combo. Ive wanted Earthquake's ever since i heard them in my friends car.
Here is a combo WhiteRabbit suggested to me
2 15" Earthquake Magma's
1 Earthquake PHD3 amp
I was wondering what you guys thought about that setup in our cars, and anything else u knew about how well they will work together. I really dont wanna be blowing subs or amps constantly. So with all that said, i was hoping maybe someone could shed there opinions on this. Im also going to need internal speakers and a new headunit. So any info on these subs/amp and whatever else you would all like to add would be great. Thanks as always guys.

No matter what equipment you buy you shouldn't be blowing things constantly or ever. Not saying things don't break, but its rare. Honestly I have never blown or broken anything in over 10 yrs I have been into car audio. My dad is an electrician so I had a big advantage when I started in w/ the wiring. I was also lucky that the local shop had guys who would answer questions all day long. The owner made more money selling than installing. I would ask questions until I understood the concepts.
What blows subs and breaks equipment is user error. People love to wire things w/ the power still on, connect wires crappily, leave bare wire exposed, crank gain ***** wide open, crank bass ***** to full, and aren't smart enough to turn it down when the distortion starts.
But yes, that setup should be very very loud. The only disadvantage I can see is the lack of trunk space.

you wanna tell me how you plan to power a d3 on a stock e-system?

but that's really not very sensible. plus why buy the big amp and hardly use its power?
