drop question

I know I should've posted this in the suspension forum, but I need fast answers and I know people will look at this first.

I have a 2002 honda civic ex coupe, and I am going to buy springs for it(shocks too) My only problem is what have you guys dropped. I am in between the neuspeed sport and race. sport i think is a 1.75 drop in the front and race is 2.25. I am going to put 17's in the car, and I want it to have a finger gap away, but then again don't want to risk hitting anything. thank you guys

Go with neuspeed sports, Race springs are too low imo.
What size tire are you planning to get?

I am not sure, I want to get low low pros though. I have never been to familier with suspension and tires as far as cars are concerned. Everything else I am well aquainted with. for sure I will get 17's so that I won't get robbed on performance(i know what performance)

Changing to any wheel other then Stock steels will effect performance unless you go with a wheel that is VERY light like these

I just changed to my stocks for the winter snow and checked the weight difference between the 18's and my stocks was only about 2 lbs .

^^ as nice as that is, the stocks will still perfrom better... you have to take in to account where the weight is, and the farther the weight is from the center of rotation the more Inertia that wheel will have. (about 80% of a wheels weigth is located on the rim, where the tire mounts), so an 18 would have to be considerably lighter then the 15 for it to have the same inertia. so even going from a 14/15 to a 17 there will be a loss in perfomance.....

WELL YES OFCOURSE. i UNDERSTAND THAT AND KNOW THAT I WILL LOOSE SOME SLIGHT PERFORMANCE ETC ETC. i AM INTERESTED IN EITHER 17'S OR 18'S AS LONG AS THEY ARE LIGHT. WHERE AND HOW CAN I GET THEM? AND SHOULD I KEEP THE 1.75 DROP IN THE FRONT FROM NEUSPEED SPORT

as long as you know...

For the wheels and springs..... well, Big and Light arnt cheep and what looks good is a matter of opinion, so i cant really help you there.

for the springs... the neuspeeds should work fine, but if you go 18s I suggest picking up a set of shocks, to help smoothen out the ride... The Heavier wheels will exert more force on the suspension, and the stock shocks may not be able to handle it.

if you want a finger gap away with low pro's your going to have to go with race.
i'm thinking you'll probably get 205-45-17 atleast thats what i suggest. either that or 215-40-17. 215-45-17 is too thick and 205-40-17 too thin.
either those two tires or race should give you 1 finger gap.
