Question 225/40zr18 Front And 215/35zr18

I'm getting new tires for my 2k1Civic, dropped 1.75 with camber kits, though I was thinking about putting 225/40ZR18 to the FRONT for more meat and to cover the 2" gap in between, and the REAR's just perfect with 35's. My question is... would it affect my suspension and or handling??? , did anybody tried this already? how did it perform? I really need some feedbacks, I'm buying tires in couple of days... Thanks! Happy Holidays!

P.S.
Nankang tires sucks a$$!!!

Unless you are pushing the car to its absolute limit you will probably not have any handling problems.... if you are, the car may want to oversteer at its limits.

one disadvantage is you cant rotate your tires for even wear

Thumbs up Daily Driving

I am NOT talkin' about drifting or drag racing, I'm just lookin at cruisin ... daily driving i.e. 70-110 mph on the freeways , and street cornering 90-180degrees not to excess 40 mph sorts of stuff ... 225/40 FRONT AND 215/35 REAR will oversteer and or understeer pretty quick ? I lowered it with Goldline Springs 1.75 dropped and had R1Racing RearLower and RearUpper Struts... What if I put the same width but a little thicker on FRONT? i.e. 215/40 FRONT AND 215/35 ON REAR? Thanks for the info guys! much appreciated!

Well its not uncommon to see a width down in the rear on some FWD racecars (its a somewhat common ITR/CTR thing)... it neutralizes the car a bit because it makes the car more rear-end happy, but on the street, I dont think so.
It'll throw your speedo off, look odd, and if you're daily driving, you'll never be able to rotate them. if you've got 2" in the front and no gap in the back, your suspension has some issues, or you need some stiffer springs to handle the weight of your subs. Find a way to lose some of the weight in the trunk or call someone about increasing the spring rate in the rear.

slowvic is an unknown quantity at this point
Having substantial differences in tire diameter front to rear, such as one size difference in aspect ratio, may cause problems with your abs. The rear tires will also be noticably shorter.

ya just keep it the same... its would look way weird. even 215-40 vs 215-35 is a big difference. just because it closes the gap doesnt mean it'll look any better. the front will be alot higher than the rear and drop the rear even more because of the leverage..

i suggest you call goldline and get the springs replaced with the correct ones..

is it because the rear is lower than the front?
try calling them, you might be able to get it exchanged...

Yeah that, and when I got it installed, at first it wasn't hitting the side fender, but now, everytime I get into a dip, it hits the fender, so now either I get me a coilovers considering the 2k1Civics suspension's sux, or get the whole suspension kit, or get my wide body conversion...
