Riceboy, no one on this site has ever wanted to swap an auto cluster into a manual tranny car.

Pec:

Dude just wait or go and find a manual cluster. Don't half-*** the swap. Even if your auto cluster did work, would you be able to live with that "P R N D 2 d3" gear indicator column sitting there? It would be none fuctional and the lights would probably light up even though you have a manual.

If you bought the cluster already, then sell it or try to get your money back. What's wrong with the one you already have? I bet you're trying to swap an 03 cluster huh? Am i right? The 2001 and 2002 cluster harnesses will fit the 2003 cluster sockets. But the 2003 cluster is VERY different, and you can tell because of the many new features on the cluster. The 2001 and 2002 harnesses don't have those the new features built in them.

ok.
I wasn't attacking you over the internet, so I'm relieved you didn't go into a hissy fit.

I've read:
"I want a manual cluster because it looks cooler"
"I want a tachometer because no indiglos are made for DX!"
"I want an EX/LX cluster because the DX has no tach"
"I want the 2003 Cluster because it looks cooler"

but haven't seen:

"I want an automatic cluster for my manual car!"

you're right it doesn't make sense. the four I listed above, do make sense. and I've just never heard of that last one

The manual tachs have 4500 rpm at 12:00. The auto tachs have 5500rpm at 12:00.

i lifted the face up a little bit and covered the hole that the abs light bulb is in, with black electrical tape.

No need for pulling out the light bulb or disassembling the cluster; that could cause malfunctions.

I doing swap the 2003 cluster into the 2001 car.My car is manual tran but the only 2003 cluster I found is automatic. So..I bought that 03 cluster.....Like most of member of 7thgen said........"the 03 cluster has differnet connector" that wrong the connector is the same but after I plug it in notthing happen no power in to the cluster. It's should have some sound or beep when turn the key on but it's silence. I'm suggest that
1. the 03 has different pin out
or 2. anyear of the automatic cluster not work with manual tran car
OR 3.MY 03 CLUSTER IS BROKEN.(-_-)

If you have the Infomation about 2001 pin out or 2003 pin out . I could finish this cluster swap.

Or any kind 03 civic driver give me a big flavor take pictures of your cluster connector that show the color of all the wires both sides that will help me finish this work . Thanks
