neuspeed front upper strut bar noise

Is it common to here a slight reverberation when reving the engine with these installed? Ever since I installed my front upper tie bar.. and when I rev the engine at low speeds.. I can here a rumbling/reverberation as the revs come down. Anyone? Anyone? As some of you may know... with the 02 and ups... you have to bend the clutch reservoir etc... to allow the bar to fit... and I'm thinking it's only vibrating against this... or maybe the bar itself is vibrating ... dunno...

check to make sure all the bolts are secure. If it isn't that look to see if the resevoir is rattling against it. I didn't relocate mine, just pushed it out the way.

75lbs are you insane??!!

do not tighten that bar up to 75lbs you will break the stud off and screw yourself.
they should be tightened to 33lbs of torque.... no more
make sure its tight and check the res for the rattling.

try relocating the clutch reservoir and making sure the nuts are tightened to 33lb-ft...... i think it might be the reservoir vibrating against the bar...... good luck

I just installed my neuspeed upper strut bar 2 days ago. Its 33lb/ft for the four nuts and the only other thing it could be would be the clutch fluid container. I have a 2001 so i just moved it and screwed it back in. Just check under ur hood and jiggle anything around ur strut bar to see if it moves. Thatll prob allow u to figure out whats causing the noise.

i have an 02 coupe.. there are 2 rez's and their both labeled brake fluid(can they both be repositioned? the neuspeed install instructions only make mention to one reservoir).... both touch the bar.. from the top and bottom of the right side (driver's side) well more specifically, they rest against it--with that end of the bar going between the 2. has anyone with an 02 cpe had to deal with this? If it's not doing 'DAMAGE' to the car than i'd feel a lot better. Help...

i have a 02 coupe auto...and i haven't had any problems since i intsalled mine. i'd check to make sure your bolts are on tight...you can try putting a small piece of sponge or something between things to see if the rattling continues...if it doesn't...then u found your problem

I know this is an old thread but did anyone figure out that the "reverberation" noise was? i'm having the same problem but it only seems to happen when the car is cold. it goes away for the most part after it's warmed up.

do you have an exhaust? If you do it might be rattling against your sway bar.

It's my front upper strut bar, not sway bar that's making a noise. it's not even close to my exhaust.

it should not rattle at all. one of resevoirs might be hitting it or you didn't tighten it well enough or your over torqued it.

Just have a friend play with stuff while you rev the engine. You can always put a piece of cloth against whatever is rattling. Mine is on an auto, so I don't have it touching anything.

so it's not just me! man, the vibrating annoyed me so much that i decided to take it off. damn $100 bucks just in the garage propped up against the wall. i think the problem is the bar touching the plastic part that 7gen03 is talking about. i thought about putting duct tape on either the bar or the plastic, but it would look pretty ghetto, so i decided not to. if anyone figures this out.......DO TELL!

edit: btw, i did everything in the install right. tightened to 33 ft-lbs and followed the instructions and all....
