b-4 you call him on his bs...remember v-6 firebird auto is slow. i had an encounter with a lady driving a v-6 automatic and she was also pissed. she was talking **** at a light and she wanted to race. i don't know **** about those cars so i figured i would get my *** kicked so i didn't race. she took off from the light and i wan't impressed so the next light i raced her...i got her by about 4 feet until i gained a car length at about 80 MPH. that was with only intake/exhaust and a 12" in the trunk, my g/f with me. and my vic isn't all that. so he could have one...

First of all, it depends how old it is. then it depends whats under the hood.
My friend has a 91 'bird that started out with a 305 V8 and barely ran 15's. Put a 350 in, it ran 13s, put a 406 in... it may hit 11s on the motor.
There was at one point a 3.4L V6 option on the F-body (I think it was in the 4th gen, the one before the last). 160 HP, with a tranny that was built to take a lot more... so it took a lot to turn it... and it was slow as hell.... like mid 16's slow. So it is doable. Thats why I said Firebird, but no way a T/A... even with the 3800 V6, they're not rockets by any standard... but those may be a little too quick.

it was a 93+ model and it wasn't a trans am
i just have an i/e so i know that won't help a lot but i'm pretty sure that the weight issue plays a key role here....that thing was running hard and i had my civic floored too....i wouldn't be puttin this stuff on the forums for the hell of it...just wanted to let people know that we are capable of kicking some domestic ***......ah well....thanks for listening

the 4th gen----98+ v6's have a 3.8 litre..and are rated at 200hp...now I know that isnt to the wheel...but stock they are capable of a mid 15 sec run...
the 4th gen 93-to I believe the 97 have the 3.4 litre and I believe rated around 160...so if you are in the mid 15s you definetly could have beaten these cars....off the line I can see him pulling a little just cause of the low end torque and the rwd...the v6's are in no way high end cars

i had a 91 305 throttle body injected and it felt real quick....had flowmasters and it was a tad lower than stock so it felt like you were dragging....but i raced a pontiac crand am v-6 and he stayed with me the whole time up to 115 (where it is governed) but it was quick. So im thinking it was a v-6....you know, there were a few older firebirds that carried four bangers i believe
