Okay here is my situation i want to buy a firebird (320 HP and 13.2 1/4 stock is damn tempting) anyways i can afford it now but cant afford 2 cars with insurance ect etc. i still love the civic 38mpg and low maintenance and a very dependable daily driver plus im attached to it. here are my options
1. sell the civic and buy the firebird
2. don't buy the firebird until later and buy a 2002 firebird, keep the civic

Rep Power: 0 keep the civic and buy the firebird lata! IMO, im in love with civics no matter how fast they are. i have had three civics and i have had no serious probs with them, they have all been good to me. Firebirds are fast so i would wait and buy lata.

Hell, Buy the 'bird, drop a cam in it and run 11's maybe even 10's.
Thats seriously all it takes, the motor is that responsive.
...Or you could do like my buddy did, buy an old one, and an engine block, and do it from the ground up. Its mere weeks from being ready to go, and I can't wait to go for a ride in this beast... its a built 406 (6.6L)... estimated is 400 RWHP (he's guessing, but I'm sure he's close, he picked all the parts out and knew what and why he was doing it), and throw a 150 shot in for good measure.

it takes more than a cam to run 11's thou . but its not hard to get 11's or even 10's in the car headers can give it 48 hp TO THE WHEELS and there are alot of super/turbo-charger kits on the market.

Rep Power: 0 2, with the money you currently save up because of gas, you cna use that to buy the bird later, and not have to worry to use it as a daily driver, keep the bird for the weekends
on the otherhand, since they've stopped making the bird, would it go up?

Rep Power: 0 ok i checked up and did some research... they called it the "firebird trans-am"... so what your really talking about is a trans am WS6? OR is it a formula firebird? either way, both of those are pumping out around 300 ponies and torque.. definately go with that :P. Unless you have a long communte. Trust me a muscle car will have you pissing green into a toilet iwth a long commute.
If its a regular firebird its a v6 pumping out a whopping 160 hp (2000-2002 firebirds). stick with teh vic if thats what your looking at.

Rep Power: 340 I say wait until you can get the 02. Well, get whatever the last year was. I'm pretty sure it was 02 and not 03. Anyway... I think that down the line, the last year F-bodies are going to be worth tons. So, I say #3 - don't worry about when you do it, but as soon as you can get the firebird, get it, but get the last model year. I think that would be the wisest choice. Driving a Civic until then won't kill you... and that'll give you enough time to part out any mods you have.
