Encounter with base AT RSX
This guy was pacing me in his base AT silver rsx, so we both line up, then we both floor it, stay even for a while, pulls on me little by little, then by 60 he had 2 car lengths on me. I had a friend in the car, he was alone.
Mine is A/T w/ short ram/exhaust. oh and iridiums :-p

When looking at most production cars, a stick shift will be FASTER than it's auto counterpart.
However, one of the big reasons auto is used in drag cars is because of CONSISTENCY. An auto is more consistent and more likely to run the same time every time than a stick shift is. This is particularly important when bracket racing.

In response to Diemos.... an auto in that car would be faster. At that speed, humans can't shift with a clutch as fast as an automatic. I had an auto in my built-up camaro for that reason... 1/2 second quicker.... straight up! So, no, another Buick with the same parts and a manual, would NOT be faster!!
