Civic beats Porsche???

I am shocked but I actually took a porsche (944 body style). It was from a red light. We were dead even until 75mph. My car started pulling out on him. I am still trying to find out wut exact model it was.

I believe you were dead next to him, but did he know you were racing him? Other than that, I gotta see it to believe it, I dont care what kinda porsche it is our 7th gens will not keep up not even off the line sorry to tell you that buddy, and even if you were an awesome driver able to take him off the line wouldnt take take him much to pull away and one more point, there is no way youd pull on him from 75mph especially b.c. our cars dont move it seems after like 3rd gear lol

Actually, any of you guys who say BS, don't know your porsche products. The 1983-1989 944 had 143hp and weighed 2720, it wasn't until 1986 that they introduced the turbo 944 which had 220hp. Given that the car is around 20 years old, that should account for some horsepower loss. Even though these things didn't have much power, they were handling machines. I can definatly believe he beat one.

I knew somebody with a poor mans porshe. It was an automatic to boot. The thing couldnt even break traction off the line on dry pavement. So, Im willing to give him the benefit of the doubt

He said 944 body style....which the n/a 944 is the only porsche a civic could possibly have a chance at beating. I would bet it was a 944.

It's amazing how people call BS and have no clue what they are talking about.

The 944 and 944S porsche models were 16 second cars. Even as much as high 16 second cars if they were auto.

So yes, let's take the BS flag down.

Still dont believe you pulled on him though, even if it was a 16 second car, our civics run about low 17's maybe high 16's with Great Driver w/ more mods than just I/H...but if ya beat him congrats, so now Imma go around lookin for these 944 bodies to race YES!

I run consistant 16.0 flats, with the occasional fluke 15.9x run. I have seen less than great civic drivers achieve mid-16s runs stock. There are even several drivers here that have run 15.8. You also have to remember that the engine on the porsche is probably more then 15 years old. Time definatly takes its toll on high performance porsche engines, because they are tuned to every inch of their lives from the factory. YES! go seek out 944s, just make sure they are not the turbo version or you'll only be looking at taillights .

The 914's are extremely slow, however when modded with the right engine are sweet sweet cars. Not sure if that was the model you raced though

You really drive a Civic? Maybe yours is auto. Autos do 17s and BARELY breaking into 16s.

Manuals hit 16s all day. If you own a manual and hit a 17 bone stock, you should not be drag racing or even driving a manual.

i raced a porsche boxter on the freee way, my SI 03' has AEM CAI

i was heading back from fontana speed way and i still had my numbers on my window, on the free way there was this burgandy porsche boxter and when i was comming up he pulled up next to me then took off, once i herd him down shift and punch it so did i, it took me about a second to catch up to him then when i hit 6000 rpm i was starting to pass him, we were raceing at 70-110 mph after i passed him i pressed on my brakes and let him go, all the people i went with to fontana speed way saw me burn the porshce they were hella suprised taht my car beat it, and i only have 1200 miles on my car, raced it at 1100 miles on fontana speed way track got 15.6!

rsx type-S were getting 15.8 to 16.1
GTS celicas were getting 15.9 to 16.2

i dont know maby bad drivers but? all of them were getting the same times
