Question Properly Lubricating Ingalls Poly

Does anyone have any idea how to do this? I have them and they are starting to sqeak like crazy! It's damn annoying and I want to fix it. I did a search and one guy suggested to either dissasemble it or get someting small enough to lubricate the area around the poly that touches the metal. Someone help plz!

I have the same problem. I bought some silicon spray from advanced auto parts, but the stuff seems to work only for a day or so... I'm starting to get really annoyed by the noise. I'm thinking about disassembling the whole thing and lube it and start over.

Yep. disassemble it. You have to take off the two washers that look like little gears. They're not easy to take off. You have to pry them up at the corners and they'll slide off little by little. Then you hammer the middle out and clean it up. Then just lubricate it and make sure the lubrication gets into all of the grooves.

Putting it back together is a little harder. You have to hold the whole thing in a vise and you have to use a pipe that's just right to put those washers back on. It needs to have an inside diameter that leaves the little "gears" of the washers alone when you press the washers back on. I found a piece in a scrap pile at Home Depot for free.

Lube it the best you can and then just live with the squeaking... you'll get used to it after awhile.
