I just got my 2015 civic and was wondering if anyone has figured out the album art using USB interface.
When I went to buy it I hastily copied a few mp3s to a thumbdrive so I would have some tunes, and the first time driving the screen displayed the album art for a couple of the tracks (some didn't display the art) but since then using the same usb drive and the same mp3s none of the album art is displaying. all of my tracks have proper id3 tags with album art does it have to do with the id3 version of the tags? does it have to do with resolution of the album art images?
any help would be great

hey, shadowfist … since i have no idea which screen you are referring to … will go under assumption you are viewing the large 7" audio-display in the center-console. for point of reference … my car is 2015-ex model.
according to pg192(+/-) in ATR0154DOM's manual … "Your audio system reads and plays sound files on a USB flash drive in either MP3, WMA or AAC*1 format". another point to consider … there is a setting which can enable/disable usb-cover-art … navigate to home/ settings/ audio-settings for that feature.
with regard to my own query … copied half-dozen *.mp3 files from win-10 to usb(sandisk) … even those results were sketchy. while liz-phair's 'n zepellin's 'n floyd's images viewed in sandisk's explorer-view … michael-buble did not (but did in win-10). hooked the thumb-drive into usb-port under the civic's console (not inside armrest) … seemed quite stable. what i mean to say is "all images i viewed through win-10 explorer i also viewed in the audio-display (again, except buble)". with regard to hierarchy … i created child-folder (music_files) inside the parent-folder of thumb-drive.
i shut off and exited car for an hour … when i entered the car later, no differences apparent. however … i did not actually drive the car … was only in accessory mode.
my suggestion … when copying the *.mp3 files to your thumb-drive … as liaison, review each file within win-environment.
if you wish to further your investigation or hacking skills … "resource-hacker" is one such tool that could assist. there's handful of marketed software that can aid you also … when ripping/converting media-files. try the afore-mentioned format variants.
fwiw … even iphone s'had similar issues … some media-files stopped playing directly after next op-ver update … etc.
