Cleared Out Headlights
Cleared Out Headlights
I'm thinking about clearing out my headlights, maybe changing the bulbs to blue. I'm just wondering if the clear sidemarker would pass inspection, I live in Texas by the way...

A turn signal lamp shall emit:
(1) a white or amber light, or a color between white
and amber, if the lamp is mounted on the front of the vehicle
Except as expressly authorized by law, a person may not
operate or move equipment or a vehicle, other than a police vehicle,
with a lamp or device that displays a red light visible from
directly in front of the center of the equipment or vehicle.
(c) A person may not operate a motor vehicle equipped with a
red, white, or blue beacon, flashing, or alternating light unless
the equipment is:
a running lamp, headlamp, taillamp, backup lamp,
or turn signal lamp that is used as authorized by law.
And you have to have a reflectors on the front of your car for safety reasons. I'm pretty sure it's a federal regulation that they have to be same color as on the stock part (yellow/amber).

I live in Texas as well and have yet to have any problems with my cleared headlights. When you say "change to blue bulbs" do you mean your headlights or turn signals. If you mean headlights, you'll be fine, but if you meant turn signal, keep in mind that all fashing red or blue lights are illegal.
