Thumbs down Ever get singled out by cops?

Well I was on my lunch break today cruising home in the middle lane of a three lane interstate doing about 80 in a 65mph zone. The next thing i know my radar dectector goes off and i see a state trooper sitting in the median. So rather than jam on my brakes i just lifted off the throttle because there were cars behind me and in the right lane. Prolly like 7 or 8 cars all going as fast as me.

Then i see him pull out so everybody moves to the right lane with me at the front of the pack. He doesn't hesitate and immediatly jumps on my ***- Oh great

So I ended up getting a ticket for 80 in a 65 which, yeah i was speeding but so was everybody else. I think he just saw a young looking driver in a recently washed civic with a few mods(everything else is covered in road salt and dirt) and thought "hey i'm gonna bust this kids ***** for just cause I can"

Sorry for the long post but i am pissed. So anyone else have any similar stories of being singled out and profiled based on your car?

I haven't really been "singled out" just yet, but i live in a small town, and most the cops know my car, and know it's got a turbo on it (how can you miss the big azz FMIC) and everytime they pass me, they always flip on their radar on me, never on anyone else in front of me cuz my radar dectector dosen't go off. Only right before they pass, my radar goes off "PULSE".....FUDGE!

Cops have been really nice lately. I havent been singled out in a while, and they dont ride my a** anymore. Since I dropped my car a couple inches, they havent really tailgated or followed me. They used to do it ALL THE TIME. I have about 14 tickets to prove it. I havent gotten a ticket in over a year now, maybe 2 or 3? Ive been doing good, but starting to speed again. At least I only got 1 point on my record, and insurance didnt go up since it was for a blue license plate light.

Spray paint it flat black, then put a mesh grill insert in the lower grill, they'll never recognize it, but they'll still hear your BOV, get a bypass valve, and that'll be that.

I bet you were singled out because you have rims. Cops always go for the fancy cars, or cars that stick out. Not nothing new.

Damn when I had my ChevY GTZ a while back in all its white glory that freakin thing was "known" If i was driving through my town it was instant pullover. If i was spotted it was hassle time. Met a few good friends that way though (cops). I think most of them pulled me to find out what kinda car it was but who knows. And to think Im buying another one and makin it even faster than the old on HAHA

singled out...

i was doing 70 for about an hour going home then in the last 1/2 mile before my exit i decided to go 80...for no reason. so all the cars behind me (at least 3..probably more) speed up too so i'm setting the pace...all of a sudden there's a state trooper in the median...hit the brakes...nose dive! all that happened though was a massive pulse spike and we looked at each other :-D

tough break. cops don't usually go after stock looking cars, unless you are way over the limit, just a thought, but it is their choice when they see a pack of cars which one to pull over.

definately. If somebody ever wants to pass you to go faster, let them, or move over, so they can lead and get pulled over. It works. You go with the flow of traffic, but if you are leading the flow of traffic way over, of course youll get pulled over

yup i hate cops that do that.My friend got pulled and we got searched...they said there have been reports of drug sales going around. it was discrimination like a motherfvcker. just because they saw 2 asians in a dropped integra, they pinpointed us as drug dealers?!?!WTF!?!...o yea and they said i was wearing a hat that was described as what one of suspects were wearing. Come on man, we were on the way to met up our GF's for dinner making us like 40 minutes late. No apology or nothing from the cops.

multiple police will show up to the same location for support and to help anyway they can...not to show force and make you feel like a criminal...and if there are 2 of you in the car thats going to be searched one officer wont do it by himself...

My brother and I got into this same discussion a bit ago. My opinion is that when you fix up your car to catch peoples eye (rims, lowered, paint etc...) in an attempt to stand out from the crowd, then don't be mad when you do catch someones eye and stand out from the rest of the crowd, and that someone turns out to be a cop..

With that said, sorry about the ticket.

Since I got my plain white pick-up, I can almost speed with impunity, the cops are always busy chasing a ricer!

Singled out? You were speeding, pay your ticket and STFU or don't speed.

yup!, that happenes to me. I got a baby blue car and i always catch eyes n sometimes is cops, but only in this one specific town, where i used to live. So now, i no longer go there, they have the most dumbest laws, like ur car is too low, exhaust is too loud, your paint is too bright, dumb i tell u.

But yea, i would just pay the ticket

i know it sux dude but the reason he pulled u over is cuz you were the one he clocked. if you r in a group of cars going over hte limit, drive in back then they cant single u out.

I got singled out in highschool.. I had to go to court because I refused to wear my rosary under my shirt.. I know it wasn't meant to be worn around my neck but I did because I wanted to.. the priest said it was cool as long is it was for the right reasons... the police at school said it was "gang related" and said I couldn't wear it. I was like whatever, got arrested, suspended and ended up wining in federal court. didn't do it for the money either which is probably why we won. Just the point. after that the cops always searched my car looking for drugs beer or whatever and the drug dog always would be sniffing around it. I was like man you guys won't find anything and they would laugh at me. anwyays that has nothing to do w/ driving but the title of this thread reminded me of it
