Your argument has 2 sides, and 2 separate violations. The first one is the person riding your *** and speeding. that's an unsafe condition, obviously, and if there's a cop there, he will ticket him first, and he'll get hit harder with fines, et al.
However, even if you are doing the speed limit, the problem becomes worse when 2 cars are in closer proximity than they absolutely need to be. So, by not moving over, even if it's not your fault, you worsen the unsafe condition that, yeah, we know, you didn't create.
in CA, I always drive with this thought in mind:
"The DMV processes millions of people a year, and once you pass the bone-headed-easy road test when 16 that doesn't even go on the highway, you just breeze through the system no matter how many near misses and close calls and unsafe things you do. Always drive like the people areound you don't know how to or don't care about your safety, because they probably don't know any better. Do your best to shoulder the responsibility they shirk so that you or others around you don't get hurt, because that is what it means to be a good citizen and a part of the solution instead of the problem."
So, the guy behind you is a ****. everyone withing visual range knows it, and they are all probably a bit worried he's going to lose control and do something stupid. Or maybe the person behind you is out of control and needs help but can't ask for it or signal. Your options are to stay in your lane and block him in because, hey "HE can move, its not my problem that he's a ****"
Or, you can move out of the way, and take responsibility for your own saftey, and possibly help the other drivers around you who want this peron out of their vicinity as fast as possible, and move out of the way to the right lane. Let his moronic *** pass you up, then resume passing people that you were trying to pass. No road rage, less possibility of inuries, and in all likelihood, the moron on your tail will get a ticket because now, he gets to pass all the cops running radar before you do.
What state do you live in, and more importantly, what sate of MIND do you live in?

Rep Power: 435 He lives in Virginia. We, as Virginians, don't follow the same rules as California verbatim, but we do share similar legislation. It also helps that VA is so close to the District that whenever something stupid happens on the highway, no cops respond. They're too busy with drug busts in DC.

the speed limit is 65 on the garden state parkway. in new jersey, if you aren't driving at least 75, you are obstructing traffic. (which it appears to me that you get off on it)
draven - you wouldn't last 2 minutes driving here. with your driving style, you would either be run off the road or shot.
