Exclamation Ottawa: Here are the areas to stay away from tomorrow

Got this on the DND WAN today.

ROAD CLOSURES AND RESTRICTIONS DURING THE VISIT OF PRESIDENT BUSH -- NOVEMBER 29 AND 30

We have been informed that, due to security precautions surrounding President Bush's visit this week, road closures and restrictions will be in effect in the downtown area of Ottawa and around the Place du Portage complex in Gatineau (Hull sector).

You may experience some delays in getting to your workplace in the core areas of Ottawa and Gatineau, and may need to modify your usual route to take account of road closures.

OTTAWA
Residents and commuters can expect traffic disruptions, modified bus routes and longer travel times in the core due to road closures, and are asked to monitor local radio and television stations for current information. For additional information, please visit the City of Ottawa Web site: http://www.ottawa.ca/residents/event...visit_en.shtml

the president visits about 1/2 mile from my work like every month, sometimes more. They close off most every road within 2 miles, but all the main ones are open, and you can still access every other one. They just have an officer at every single street, neighborhoods, corners, everywhere. It gets crazy. Probably about 500 cops that you can see within about a mile period. They block off a lot for the mexican president as well, but not as much.
