Tried out the 05 Si last night

Me and my Girlfriend were just laying on the couch last night when Catherine looks at me and says hey do you want to go and race the car ???? I was like WTF really??? and she was like F*&#ing right lets see what she can do so I was like OK the car is over its break in period so why not see how fast the **** goes lolll. So she tells me to go to luskville there is a really good open stretch of road there and usually no cops. Im looking at her like man are you for real you actually want me to break the law and risk losing my license ?? and she says well don't be chicken its gonna be alright there are never any police there anyways so I agreed and said lets go.. We stop at Tims on Greber and start heading out through Aylmer and eventually get to Luskville. Her I am doing about 140 then I drop it into D3 then floor it till about 7000RPM and im doing about 160 165KMH so we are steadily going up and up and I top out at 187 Kmh I was like what the **** thats really slow for this car my 1991 Mazda 323 would do 210 215 no prob with a 1.6 liter 88hp engine (Manual though) I have to say that i am disapointed a bit I really had the car floored and it would not go any further than 185kmh I wonder if a manual would have been different..

DISCLAIMER (I KNOW WE ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO SPEED BLA BLA BLA) How could any of you say no to your girlfriend anyways......

well

1) its auto.. its good that you reached that high...
2) car isnt taht light to begin with..
3) the conditions could've been no good..

but even if all of that was right.. you wouldnt go any higher than 190..

oh and dont forget.. there is a speed limiter..

you mean my cars faster than your bike for top speed? If you try another high speed run do it with the wind on your back, at 190kmph it does make a difference.

why the hell would u try to race a auto and run it at full speed? so u shift ur automatic transmission to D3 while u were doin 160 and hit 7000 rpm? this doesn't make sense at all... okay wait, so when u hit 7000 rpm in d3 did u have to shift back to D??? sorry i don't drive auto so i dun understand how it works cuz my car doesn't go up to 7000 rpm

Yep 7000 is the redline ...what i did was put the automatic in second gear lets say and redlined it and then i shifted into 3rd or overdrive whatever it is and got my maximum speed of 187 kmh or about that. I was at WOT wide open throtle......

the civic redline is actually 6700 rpm... how you got reved to 7000 is either a lie or your car is messed up... I have an AUTO with a 75 shot and even the REV limiter will stop pumping GAS at 6700... also 7000 is possible only if you have a standard.. but AUTO means the ENGINE will AUTOmatically shift at 6700
