So my car went over to their Pembrooke location yesterday for a ton of work.
1) repaint front bumper
2) repaint rear bumper
3) paint Wings West G5 kit
4) install kit
5) extend exaust out 1/8" to clear tip from bumper (weld in extension)
6) repaint hood
7) paint altezza grill
So I already told you about the ride they gave me to my rental car in the new Viper SRT-10 (that I got to drive...woot!)...
The guy that owns the place is a friend of my dad's. I was telling him about what was getting done to it, that I needed it for the show and how I also had asked for a quote on getting the hood redone at a later date. He says..."just get it done now, don't worry about it, it's on me".
I wanted to hug the man...haha
This guy owns the Viper, the Viper truck, an H2 and some Scarab boat. I guess business is good huh...haha
Today Carlo calls me up from the Pembrooke shop and says he got all the stuff painted but he's concerned that tip of my TCS is gonna touch the rear lip and probably destroy the paint before I get 20 km's from where I pick it up.
So he goes out to three shops looking for adapters to bring the pipe out and finds nothing he can use. Nothing but tractors and 4X4's out there.
Then he tells me instead he can get the exaust off and weld in a 1/8 extension where the pipe goes over the sway bar. He will arch it more so that it doesn't touch the bar anymore (progress bars are huge) and it won't be that visible at all. Now the exaust should clear nicely.
All this for $900 and a $24/day 2005 Toyota Crapolla rental.
