Retard ignition for NOS?

Deception2k1 civic said his old hatch blew the motor due to not retarding ignition time?! Should it be done on our cars or has anyone done it who is using NOS? Is it possible to do ignition timing without buying anything else?

I know for a fact that you do not need to retard the ignition timing unless you are on the button all the time. If you use the button more than once a week then yes retard th eignition timing by to degrees

Have a friend who's been runnin' a 50 for a while and he never retarded the timing. Seems to be doin ok. One thing that IS recommended according to him..is to use spark plugs that are at least 1 or 2 degrees colder than factory.

How DO we retard the timing on our cars?
