Well, I just want to see proof of the percentages they gave. And plus, I thought they said they'll give numbers once it comes out. Does anyone know if DIZZLE or RedDragon got in contact with them since the kit came out?

I believe the Superior kit doesn't come with the intercooler. Only the Extreme kit does. RedDragon talked to the guys at Turbo Discounters, and they said it will fit all model Civics (auto or manual, if I'm not mistaken)... or did they say they have a kit for all model Civics... something like that.

Isn't there a difference between, the ex exhaust and lx, wouldn't that have to be changed or something? Im just confused how they have one kit for all model 7thgen civics, also would either one pass emissions in Ca? what do you think? im trying to be street legal.

Yah, there is a difference between the exhaust of the LX and EX. I'm confused about that part as well.

To stay legal on an LX you need to buy a new catalytic converter... or just use the downpipe and cat from an EX... that's a lot of money though. But to contradict that... it's illegal in most places to remove the catalytic converter and replace it if it wasn't damaged.

Check out the group buys section. If you can get 10 hands we can do a 15% discount. Free shipping (in the lower 48) too.

well, the first thing is the T25. If you ever want to make more than a 250 whp max, you cant use a T25 because they wont flow enough CFM of air. You can only make about 250 whp when you port the entire turbo out.
Yes, that’s very true. The T25 (and even more so the T25BB) is incredibly good as spinning up very very fast. But they do max out lower then the T3. The T3, being designed in the 70’s, is a bigger, slower turbo, and takes longer to start up.

However, the T3 is great at spitting out the power. It’ll keep on giving you HP right up until it kills your stock engine. Out kit it great for the weekend racer, for the driver that actually drives his car. If you’re taking your Civic to work and school everyday and just want to be able to feel some more power the T25BB is great. It’s inexpensive, responsive, and will give you plenty of power for your application. It can give up to 16 lbs, which for the market we’re selling to, is an incredible amount of power.

If you have money to burn and are racing your car professionally you’ll want to completely redo your car and engine. Part of that process will be a turbo system running $7k or $8k, the core of which may be a T3 / T4. That's not who we are selling to. We're selling to the guy who wants to feel power as soon as he hits the gas so he can pass the Integra in front of him. That's what the T25 gives you.

(Disclaimer: We're, of course, also selling to the guy in the Integra who wants to step on the gas and feel the power so he can keep the Civic coming up on him from passing him. We make a T25BB kit for him too, so make sure you get yours first... )

They use a cast log style manifold. Sf's is a 4-1 hand made one.
Yes, our manifold is made of a high nickel composite and is covered by a 5 year warranty.

They use extra injectors, SF's uses the stock injectors
Our injectors have been awarded a patent. They give us the flexibility to change how much fuel is added (via the fuel management system) from the cabin. So, you can hop it and change the mix depending on things like outside temperature, humidity, elevation, driving aggressiveness, etc.

They say they have a 56% increase on any car (nissan, toyota, mazda)
It’s all the same kit. The only thing we change from car to car is the piping and manifold. A T25 is a T25 is a T25.

---

A few times in this thread it was asked about the kit fitting in the different models of Civics. The kit will work with any D17A, but yes, on some Civics you may need to have the down pipe modified. It’s not a major job, any muffler shop can do it.

As for the smog question, the emissions from a turbo’d car (with any turbo kit) are actually cleaner then without the kit. However, as was mentioned above, since you are modifying the exhaust, you probably won’t be able to get anyone to perform the smog test, even though you would pass if you were tested. Yeah it sucks, write your representatives!!!

so for a group buy for the TD Kit would include 15% discount? so the kit would be about $2652? now that sounds great, especially with free shipping

I tell you what, since we normally do free UPS Ground shipping - we'll do free UPS Ground shipping to HI. But you have to convince UPS that it's possible.

I see your logic, and since I was born in Fairbanks, AK I kinda feel your pain, I'll see what I can do. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Yup, that's the crappy part about living here. That AND we can't go to meets and meet our fellow 7thGen'ers.

By the way, what is the difference between the t25 and the t25bb?

No, on the D17A only the T25BB is available, not the T25.

The BB stands for Ball Bearing - it uses ball bearings which allows the turbo to spin faster. Faster turbo = more air = more hp. The ball bearings also allow it to spin up faster.

You of all people should know that all cars are different. A turbo'd and intercooled pontiac vibe with the same T3 and intercooler as me went from 117 at the crank to 225 to the ground! That is a big difference compared to the same one on the civic. That is why you CANNOT estimate something. That is why people want numbers. EVERYTHING effects the numbers

7psi with 2" piping will not make as much poiwer as 7 psi with 2 1/2" piping

Toyota has bigger ports on the head than the civics, etc.

if you are smart enough to be able to run a company that mass produces new products for cars, then you should know that every car is not the same, and you cant give the same numbers for every car!

Before trying to screw over the stupid Honda people, try to remember that there are a lot of us out there actually know what we are doing.

Catalyst,

I was considering the SF kit but I have lost all interest in the kit do to you. I'd rather go custom than buy that kit. You have a big mouth. You have a turbo. You are not buying this turbo. Quit being a "nar nar my kit is real and better and cheaper and my car is faster than an S2000). Honestly, we dont care.

I compare you to a politician....You come on these message boards and instead of just presenting your case in YOUR thread, you feel the need to "run a commerical" and put everyone else down. You also love to make promises...and just keep on pushing the dates back (cough cough groupbuy...). Those people don't get the vote from me and SF certainly won't be seeing any of my money. Now sush. KTHX.

Matt

Sorry, I should have been more clear in my post. When I said we change the pipes from car to car, I mean the position of one curve to another. The size is always the same - just under 2", about 1 3/4".

We're sending a Civic (although not a B17A) to a dyno on Tuesday morning, May 13th. I'll post the results as soon as they bring her back.
