D17A1 vs D17Z1
Howdy,
It's been awhile (thank God) but I'm back at the point where I've got to do major work again. THIS time however, I want to have another engine and transmission on hand to swap out should anything go majorly wrong in the future.
I have my eye on a low mileage D17Z1 with the manual transmission attached. The current engine in my 2002 Civic LX 5 speed is a D17A1. As far as I can understand it the D17Z1 is the Asian/AUS export of the D17A1? Is there any reason the D17Z1 isn't a direct swap for the D17A1? They're both the SOHC non-Vtec engine types.
