Engine Swap: 2005 civic si 1.7 L (Canadian edition)

I need to replace my engine for my civic and was wondering if there is any advice you guys can give me along with any directions on where to go. I believe i have the D17A. Any particular places that i can trust, that would give me a warranty, and reasonably priced?

I have called around, and the prices fluctuate. They have ones that are sent from japan that have like 80 km, that are much cheaper then the used from here with higher km. Is there any downside in getting the japanese engines? Can anyone give me any details on this. Also if anyone can direct me the right way on where to go and what to look out for.

Specifically, can anyone give me any shops that would give me peace and mind knowing they will do a decent job?

Thank you

There's no downside to a JDM engine.

It's difficult to recommend a shop when we don't know what area you're in.

Thanks for the reply, i live by 401 and 400 area. Around there would be ideal, though GTA would not be out of the question.

Thanks

Re: Engine Swap: 2005 civic si 1.7 L (Canadian edition)

honestly im not too well educated in these things, hence why i started lurking these forums. I would not know if i can run my stock ecu and wiring with a jdm motor. How would i be able to tell.

I found some engine from japan with 85ish km's for roughly 500 and another 500 for installation. Is that reasonable or does there seem to be something wrong?
