Re: D17 turbo kit question
I'd recommend doing a metric butt-ton of research before committing to a turbo..
learn about fuel/engine management, ins and outs of turbos, quality parts available, fuel/engine management, etc.. and yes. fuel/engine management is there twice for a reason. Here's a good start: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/7...turbo-faq.html
You'll prolly end up wanting to build a custom kit after you're done learning.. Unless Dezod decides to step back into the D17 boost game

that ebay kit looks terrible, too.. Plus, I don't know if I'd wanna run a turbo with no intercooler.. but that's just me..

Re: D17 turbo kit question
@sdaidoji, i did search for spa, found nothing on this forum.
@riceboy, i was planning to purchase an aftermarket intercooler with it. i wish dezod would come back out with a kit, and tsi is really what i wanted, was just trying to find a cheaper route..ha. anytime you can save a buck it's great.

Re: D17 turbo kit question
If you look in this forum, Dezod is re-releasing some of their turbo parts, a complete kit may be a possibility as well. Contact Paul (dezod) and ask him about it, you never know, he might have some good news.
The SPA kit sounds like a re-branded and marked up ebay kit, to be completely honest. Godspeed kits are cheap knock offs of the original dezod kit. There are TSI kits available fairly routinely in the marketplace used for decent prices and the new ones aren't that much more expensive than the ones you're looking at.
Good luck.

Re: D17 turbo kit question
Ill be putting more videos soon, I was originally going to get a godspeed, but there on backorder for months lol.. so you probably wont be able to get your hands on one.. I searched craigslist and found a used TSI kit from someone that used it on a d17, I bought new piping and other stuff.. painted the manifold.. all in all, my turbo seals are leaking a little. but for 550$ for a full kit I cant complain.
@thall, with only 4.5psi 152 whp, it is wayyy better than I expected. You are gonna love it so much.. pretty soon im gonna push 9psi. wish me luck lol,
If you have any questions about the installation or anything at all drop me a pm.

Re: D17 turbo kit question
just saying that many were happy when they installed, and many were unhappy later on with the said e-bay kits on our cars.
if you don't mind keeping a spare engine around, might work.
turbos are never cheap, sooner or later, i mean. you could have expensive at first and cheap in the long term or cheap at first and expensive later on (and unplanned, to boot)

Re: D17 turbo kit question
So, I went to dezod's website today and messaged about the possibility of bringing all their d17 turbo kit back. waiting for reply. Found this on craigslist today.
PNP D17 Head
Crower Rods, and Stage 2 Turbo Cams
Wiseco Pistons
Lightweight Flywheel
Garrett T25 turbo
No name Intercooler.
Comes with complete piping, and all oil lines, 38mm no name wastegate, no management unit Doesn't want to separate anything.
3000. I'm tryin to talk him down a little more. And on a shitty note, i still haven't fixed my damn speedometer! X(
